As long as she can remember, Chris Cole has had an interest in art. As a
volunteer with the Junior Woman's Club of Orange Park, she began the
Art Enrichment Program in Clay County in 1980. A transfer for her husband took the family to North Carolina, where she established another art program under the Arts Council in her community outside Charlotte.  Both programs are thriving today. She also served as Interim Director of the Cabarrus Arts Council in 1990.

In 1999 she found herself back in Orange Park in "retirement" and
decided to try painting. Two years of tutoring at the the Fine Arts Center
gave her a start on what has become an obsession. Oil painting was her
entry choice, but now she's into soft pastel and watercolor too.

She has been a member of the Art Guild of Orange Park, an artist
member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters society, and show her
work at St. Augustin Art Association. She has had three solo shows in
Orange Park and currently hangs at Java's Brewin Coffee shop on
Fleming Island.

An entry in Arts for the Parks competition in 2001 earned her placement
in the top 200 and she has received awards through the local Art Guild.
In addition, Chris shows her work at Alta Vista Gallery in North Carolina.
